*The fact that I managed to squeeze in both a Jane Austen and a Hannah Horvath quote and a Dolly reference in that sub-headline means I can rest easy for a while. My work here is (temporarily) done.

The news of Dolly Alderton writing a Netflix series adaptation of Jane Austen’s novel Pride and Prejudice just about broke MY internet. MY internet knows that Dolly Alderton, Jane Austen are buzzwords for me and it delivered me just about every article there was going around about it. And the fact we are getting a ginger Mr Darcy! And Olivia Coleman! Perfection!

Somewhere in the many articles I read about this adaptation Dolly had said that ‘Once in a generation, a group of people get to retell this wonderful story, and I feel very lucky that I get to be a part of it’. And it got me thinking about how I feel lucky to be a part of the generation who gets to be a part of and have my life reflected back to me by Dolly’s excellent storytelling.
